Indian Head Massage is a massage therapy that works specifically on the area surrounding the head, scalp and face, neck, and extending to the shoulders, arms and upper back.

Indian Head Massage has been used in Asia for over 5000 years. However Indian Head Massage as practised in the West is a mixture of traditional Indian and western massage techniques.

What happens during and Indian Head Massage?
An Indian Head Massage usually lasts for approximately 30 minutes (45 mins for the first treatment, including consultation).

The treatment includes massage of the upper back, neck, arms, scalp and face, incorporating acupressure points. The massage can be carried out using essential oils specifically chosen for the client's individual needs. However, Indian Head Massage can also be performed over the clothes.

An individual will feel a deep sense of relaxation whilst at the same time tension will be released from the soft tissue.


After your treatment
To gain maximum benefit from your Indian Head Massage treatment, try to rest afterwards - this helps your body's natural healing process. Caffeine can have a stiumulating effect, so tea, coffee and cola should be avoided if possible to help you relax.

Drink plenty of water or herbal tea over the next few days - this helps flush away toxins.
